About 35 Hours, 35.0140056 to be exact.

1. I wrote out the word problem to have Maria’s pay hourly, then the percentage of tax from that pay, and finally the 25$ after taxes they pay.
2. I went ahead and deducted the percentage of taxes, 25%, from the hourly pay to see how much Maria really takes home.
2.5. I subtracted the tax amount, 1.19$, from Maria’s hourly pay to show how much they take home.
3. I wrote out an equation of the amount Maria takes home multiplied by the hours they work, X, and minus the 25, to finally equal the amount Maria wants to take home. Solved the equation.
4. X is the amount of hours Maria has to work to take home 100 dollars with tax and the union fee.

I hope this is correct!! And that it helped!! :)

A park has 22 elm trees. Elm leaf beetles have been attacking the trees. After removing several of the diseased trees, there are
serg [7]

Answer: 9 elm trees were removed.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of elm trees removed.

The total number of elm trees in the park is 22. Elm leaf beetles have been attacking the trees. After removing several of the diseased trees, there are 13 healthy elm trees left. The equation to find the number of elm trees that were removed would be

x + 13 = 22

Subtracting 13 from the left hand side and the right hand side of the equation, it becomes

x + 13 - 13 = 22 - 13

x = 9

The diameter is 12 inches. What is the area? What do I do to solve it please help!
SashulF [63]

Answer:

113.04 sq. in.

Step-by-step explanation:

If the diameter of the circle is 12", then the radius is 6" (half the diameter), and the area "A" is (approximately) 3.14 * 6^2. The calculation is approximate because 3.14 is a rounded value for pi.

Rathan thinks all factors of even numbers are even. Which explains whether Rathan is correct?
Nesterboy [21]
In order to prove Rathan wrong, we only need one counterexample. Take the number 6. 6 is even, but it has the odd number 3 as a factor, so clearly, not all factors of even numbers are even.
