It’s describing nature as being upset and in mourning. Since a dirge is a funeral song, it is describing the storm, woods, and wind as being mournful and wailing as if they were singing a dirge.

Which sentence in this excerpt from Henry David Thoreau's "Civil Disobedience" implicitly argues that people need to think indep
prisoha [69]
The answer is B) "<span>seen from a higher still, and the highest, who shall say what they are, or that they are worth looking at or thinking of at all?"
</span>

I am 100% sure because the THESAURUS of implicitly, not definition (because this is english) means completely, absolutely, totally, etc.

Also, the question states that 'implicitly argues that people need to think independently and QUESTION authority?" So, B is the only option that demonstrates that people need think independently. Plus, its the only option that has a QUESTION MARK!

Travka [436]

Answer:

Jem is "moody and silent" after the pants incident. The new school year starts, and Scout finds second grade just as boring as first. One day, she and Jem are walking home together when Jem reveals that when he found his pants that night, they were all folded up, and the tears had been crudely sewn up, as if someone knew that he would be coming back for them.
