The elevation E, in meters, above sea level at which the boiling point of a certain liquid is t degrees Celsius is given by the
Anna007 [38]

Answer:

E(119.5)= 730m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

E(t)= 1200(120-t)+520(120-t)^2

Required

Determine E(119.5)

E(t)= 1200(120-t)+520(120-t)^2

Simply substitute 119.5 for t

E(119.5)= 1200(120-119.5)+520(120-119.5)^2

Evaluate the expressions in bracket

E(119.5)= 1200(0.5)+520(0.5)^2

Solve 0.5²

E(119.5)= 1200 * 0.5+520*0.25

E(119.5)= 600+130

E(119.5)= 730

Hence;

E(119.5)= 730m

Ok I'm doing home work and need to show why 1/2 of 60 is not the same as 1/2 of 24 please help! It will give you 24 points.
Tems11 [23]
Simple,

1/2 of 60

re-write it as 0.5 of 60 aka 0.5*60

which is 0.5*60=30

Do the same with 1/2 of 24.

0.5 of 24

0.5*24=12.

Thus, it's not the same because they are different numbers and different number give you different answers.

Do i begin with division first?
lara31 [8.8K]
Use PEMDAS. Division comes before addition. start with 9/25 ÷ 18/15. You will divide those like you would normally divide a fraction, so yes, do the inverse of 18/15 and multiply that by 9/25. after you've done that, take that answer and add the 5/8 to it.

Lucy used 3 gal of paint to cover 900 ft. She needs to cover a total of 1,100 ft?.
insens350 [35]

Step-by-step explanation:

3 gal = 900 ft

... gal = 1100 ft

So, each gal is used for cover 300 ft,

Then,

\sf \frac{1100}{900}  \times 3 =  \frac{11}{3}  =  \boxed{ \bold{ \red{3 \frac{2}{3}  \: gal}}}

We need <u>3 2/3 gal</u> to cover 1100 ft.

Hope it helps!
