11.6

Ammonia is moderately basic; a 1.0 M aqueous solution has a pH of 11.6, and if a strong acid is added to such a solution until the solution is neutral (pH = 7), 99.4% of the ammonia molecules are protonated.

Set up a parallel circuit with three resistors. Set up the battery to be 9 V, one resistor at 10 Ohms, the other at 21 Ohms, and
valina [46]

In a parallel circuit, the equivalent resistance is the reciprocal of (the sum of the individual reciprocals).

1/R = 1/10 + 1/21 + 1/13

1/R = 0.225 mhos

R = 4.45 ohms

I = V / R

The total current out of the battery is

I = (9v)/(4.45ohms)

I = 2.02 Amperes

As the total current leaves the battery, it splits into 3 paths, and each resistor gets part of it. The 10ohm resistor gets the most current; the 21ohm resistor gets the least current. After flowing through the resistors, the 3 currents join and add up to 2.02 Amperes again, and the same current returns to the battery.

Each resistor has the same 9v of EMF across it.

A 500 kilogram roller coaster starts from rest at the top of an 80 meter hill.What was its speed at the bottom at the hill?
GarryVolchara [31]

m = mass of the roller coaster = 500 kg

h = height of the hill = 80 m

v = speed of the roller coaster at the bottom of the hill = ?

using conservation of energy

kinetic energy at the bottom of the hill = potential energy at the top of hill

(0.5) m v² = m g h

(0.5) v² = g h

inserting the values

(0.5) v² = (9.8) (80)

v = 39.6 m/s

hence the speed at the bottom comes out to be 39.6 m/s

A cold coke bottle is on the pan of a balance and is left open. What happens to its weight?
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

It's weight would decrease over time.

Explanation:

The cold coke is going to stabilise in the room temperature. This causes the coke to heat up to room temperature. When the coke heats up, some molecules acquire enough kinetic energy that the evaporate. The evaporation of the molecules causes a decrease in weight.

Hope it helped!
