An Exterior Angle is the angle formed between a side and a line extended from the next side.
The Exterior Angle theorem says that an exterior angle's measure is the sum of its two remote interior angles (the two angles that are opposite of the angle).
In this example, ∠WXY is the exterior angle, and the remote interior angles are ∠Z and ∠Y.
