Given:

The inequality is:

4x+1

To find:

The integer solutions to the given inequality.

Solution:

We have,

4x+1

This compound inequality can be written as two separate inequalities 4x+1 and 5x\leq 3(x+2).

Now,

1

1                 ...(i)

And,

5x\leq 3(x+2)

5x\leq 3(x)+3(2)

5x-3x\leq 6

2x\leq 6

Divide both sides by 2.

x\leq \dfrac{6}{2}

x\leq 3               ...(ii)

From (i) and (ii), we get

1

Here, 1 is excluded and 3 is included in the solution set. There two integer values 2 and 3 in 1.

Therefore, the integer solution for the given inequality are 2 and 3.

The cost of a can ride , y, based on the number of miles driven , x, is represented by
lozanna [386]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 0.80x + 2.50

a 7 mile ride......x = 7

y = 0.80(7) + 2.50

y = 5.60 + 2.50

y = 8.10 <=== the 7 mile ride cost $ 8.10

the ride cost 13.70.....y = 13.70

13.70 = 0.80x + 2.50

13.70 - 2.50 = 0.80x

11.2 = 0.80x

11.2 / 0.80 = x

14 = x <=== u travel 14 miles

Area of two similar triangles are in the ratio 4:9. Find the ratio of sides
Free_Kalibri [48]

Answer:

2 : 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given ratio of sides of 2 similar triangles = a : b , then

ratio of areas = a² : b²

Here by working in reverse

ratio of areas = 4 : 9 , thus

ratio of sides = \sqrt{4} : \sqrt{9} = 2 : 3
