I kind of understand this question, but I'm not sure how to answer it directly, can someone help please.
nordsb [41]
So here we use the pythagorean theorem which is a2 + b2 = c2 (“a” squared times “b” squared equals “c” squared) the length from calvins house to the intersection is “a” and the length from phoebes house to the intersection is “b” so in order to find out the length of “c” (calvins house to phoebes house) we need to use the pythagorean theorem

a2 275x275=75,625

b2 113x113 = 12,769

so now that we have figured out what a2 and b2 are let’s add them

75,625 + 12,769 = 88,394

now since we only need to find out the length and not the area we need to find the square root of 88,394

the square root of 88,394 is 297.311 (i cut off the decimal after three places)

the direct length from phoebes house to calvins is 297.311 meters

FIND THE MEDIAN OF THE DATA SET3,35,23,37,45,49,27,48
A.35
B.34
C.30.2
D.38
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

A. 35

Step-by-step explanation:

The median of a data set is the middle value when the data values are placed in order of size.

Given data set:

 • {3, 35, 23, 37, 45, 5, 49, 27, 48}

Place the data in order of size:

 • {3, 5, 23, 27, 35, 37, 45, 48, 49}

To find the median, divide the total number of data values (n) by 2.

 • If n/2 is a whole number, the median is halfway between the values in this position and the position above.
 • If n/2 is not a whole number, round it up to find the position of the median.

As there are 9 data values, the median value is:

\implies \dfrac{9}{2}=4.5 \implies \sf 5th\;value

Therefore, the median of the given data set is 35.
