If a plant’s stomata are closed and no transpiration is occurring, then

Biology

Answer:

 • The stomata are present on the plant body which are mainly regulated by the chemical balance( sugar level) inside the stomata's body. As, during the transpiration process the loss of excessive amount of water occurs which is required for the osmoregulation of the plants body.
 • Now, when the stomata are mostly light sensitive and it loses it turgidity then the cells become much flattened and thus it closes to stop the process of transpiration. Which, brings about the increase of the water level or balance inside the plants body, which is required for better or proper mechanism.
 • And, for that reason the requirement or need for more water molecules will end, as the plant roots will now stop absorbing any more water molecules from the soil.

All of the following are major functions of proteins except 1.control of biochemical reactions. 2.support for organs or tissues.
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

5.storage of energy

Explanation:

 • Proteins are important biomolecules that are a type of macromolecule.
 • This macromolecule is made up of a monomer that is called amino acid.
 • There are many functions of the protein molecules in living organisms.
 • They play an important role as bodybuilding molecules, as enzymes, as transporter molecules, and many more.
 • Most of the enzymes are made up of the protein molecules and regulate the metabolic process of the living organisms.
 • Certain proteins are present in the plasma membrane of the cells and play an important role in the transport of the substances across the cells, recognition of certain foreign particles, and some other functions.
 • They also play an important role in the immune system.
 • The main storage molecules of energy are carbohydrates and fats so storage of energy is not considered as the major function of the proteins because they do not involve as carbohydrates and fats.

What information does the geologic time scale provide?
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

Yes! Here is your answer!

Explanation:

The geologic time scale (GTS) is a system of chronological dating that classifies geological strata (stratigraphy) in time. It is used by geologists, palaeontologists, and other Earth scientists to describe the timing and relationships of events in geologic history.

The main reason that it's important to test only one variable at a time is so that
lozanna [386]
Because if we're simultaneously moving/manipulating two different variables it can be very hard to determine why one variable is changing and why the other is changing. While this can be done with more complicated experimental designs, it usually is the case that scientists will only manipulate one variable and not two different ones.

Describe the effect of amanitin on the maximum elongation rate for the wild-type and modified RNA polymerases. Determine the rat
Ainat [17]

Answer:

Average max. elongation rate = modified RNA pol./ wild type RNA pol = 2/12 = 0.166 nucleotides per sec.

Explanation:

After treating the wild type and experimental RNA with amanitin solution, the amanitin actively binds to the active site of wild type RNA polymerase, inhibiting addition of nucleotides and also it interferes with the motility of RNA pol. along the DNA template, due to which their is a sharp decline in maximum elongation rate of mRNA. In case of experimental RNA polymerase, due to single base substitution the experimental strain is already having very low elongation rate, but binding of amanitin causes constraint on the motility of RNA polymerase through the DNA template, thereby decreasing the elongation rate. Average max. elongation rate = modified RNA pol./ wild type RNA pol = 2/12 = 0.166 nucleotides per sec.
