Answer:

-$200,000

Explanation:

The cash balance in the cash account at the end of the year is shown by the formula below:

Cash balance at the end of the year=cash flows from operations+cash flow investing activities+cash flows from financing activities+beginning cash balance

Cash balance at the end of the year=$72,000

cash flows from operations=X

cash flow investing activities=$85,000

cash flows from financing activities= $93,000

beginning cash balance=$94,000

cash flow investing activities+cash flows from financing activities+beginning cash balance=$85,000+$93,000+$94,000=$272,000

$72,000=X+$272,000

The above shows that cash flows from operations is a cash outflow not an inflow

X=$72,000-$272,000=-$200,000

A. How much would you pay for a Treasury bill that matures in 182 days and pays $10,000 if you require a 1.8% discount rate?
Sonja [21]

Answer: $9909

Explanation:

Let the amount that will be paid be represented by y. The question can now be solved as:

(10000 - y)/10000 × 360/182 = 0.018

(10000-y)/10000 = 0.018 × 182/360

(10000 - y)/10000 = 0.0091

10000-y = 0.0091 × 10000

10000 - y = 91

y = 10000 - 91

y = $9909

What is positioning? A. A part of a company-driven marketing strategy B. Dividing a market into smaller groups of buyers C. De
sergey [27]

Answer:

D. Arranging for a market offering to occupy a clear, distinctive, and desirable place relative to competing products in the minds of target consumers

Explanation:

Positioning simply consists in establishing a specific market position for the product or service relative to the products or services that the competition offers.

For example, Wal-Mart has found that its most effective positioning strategy is to occupy the market place of the cheapest retail store. Wal-Mart does not try to appeal to everyone, it tries to offer the cheapest products in the market (which in itself has a very wide appeal, but the appeal is not universal anyway).

The Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission must define the relevant market when determining whether to allow a m
emmainna [20.7K]

Answer:

The correct answer is letter "B": a price increase results in higher profits; otherwise, the market is too narrow.

Explanation:

When firms are interested in acquisitions or mergers they have to determine if the target company is part of a relevant market. The term refers to the competitive conditions that offer the economy where the target company is located. The relevant market also considers the type of product or service the target company offers.

Relevant markets optimal for mergers are those where an increase in prices generates more revenue for firms. If there are too many competitors offering undifferentiated products, the market will not allow organizations to profit from price increases. Those markets, then, are too narrow.
