A sugar crystal contains approximately 1.2×1017 sucrose (C12H22O11) molecules.
xxMikexx [17]

Answer:

0.12 mg

Explanation:

Data Given:

no. of molecules of Sucrose (C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁) = 1.2×10¹⁷

mass in mg = ?

Solution:

First we have to find no. of mole

Formula used

no. of mole = no. of molecules / Avogadro's number

Where

Avogadro's number = 6.022 x 10²³

Put values in above formula

         no. of mole = 1.2×10¹⁷ / 6.022 x 10²³

          no. of mole = 3.5×10⁻⁷

Now we have to find mass of sucrose

For this formula will use

      mass in grams = no. of moles x Molar mass . . . . . .(1)

Formula of Sucrose = C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁

Molar mass of C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ (Sucrose) = 12(12) +22(1) +11(16)

Molar mass of C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ (Sucrose) = 144 +22 + 176

Molar mass of C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ (Sucrose) = 342 g/mol

put values in equation 1

                mass in grams = 3.5×10⁻⁷ x 342 g/mol

               mass in grams = 1.2 x 10⁻⁴ g

Convert g to mg

               1 g = 1000 mg

               1.2 x 10⁻⁴ g = 1.2 x 10⁻⁴ x 1000 = 0.12 mg

mass of C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ (Sucrose) = 0.12 mg

PLEASE HELP! DUE IN 5 MINS SUPER EASY CHEMISTRY!!
lbvjy [14]

Answer:

C

Explanation:

Since they all are 2 mols worth, all you have to do is count the number of atoms in each molecule

H2SO4 contains 2 hydrogen 1 sulfur 4 oxygen = 7 atoms

H2S contains 2 hydrogen and 1 sulfur = 3 atoms

H3PO4 contains 3 hydrogens 1 phosphorus 4 oxygens = 8 atoms

HNO3 contains 1 hydrogen 1 nitrogen and 3 oxygens = 5 atoms

You have the right answer.

Chemistry

Atomic Structure

  • Reading a Periodic Table
  • Using Dimensional Analysis

Explanation:

Step 1: Define

3.45 g KCl

Step 2: Identify Conversions

Molar Mass of K - 39.10 g/mol

Molar Mass of Cl - 35.45 g/mol

Molar Mass of KCl - 39.10 + 35.45 = 74.55 g/mol

Step 3: Convert

  1. Set up: \displaystyle 3.45 \ g \ KCl(\frac{1 \ mol \ KCl}{74.55 \ g \ KCl})
  2. Multiply/Divide: \displaystyle 0.046278 \ mol \ KCl

Step 4: Check

Follow sig fig rules and round. We are given 3 sig figs.

0.046278 mol KCl ≈ 0.0463 mol KCl

A glass column is filled with mercury and inverted in a pool of mercury. The mercury column stabilizes at a height of 729 mm abo
harkovskaia [24]

The atmospheric pressure will be:

The pressure of the atmosphere resulting from the mercury column is 0.959 atm

What is atmospheric pressure?

The force that an object experiences from the weight of the air above it per unit area are known as atmospheric pressure.

Given: Height of mercury column = 729 mm Hg

To find: The pressure of the atmosphere

Calculation:

The atmospheric column resulting from the mercury column is calculated as follows:

1 atm =760 mm Hg

So, we can convert the 729 mm Hg to atm, and we get

Atmospheric pressure = 729 x 1 atm / 760 = 0.959 atm
