Answer:

0.12 mg

Explanation:

Data Given:

no. of molecules of Sucrose (C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁) = 1.2×10¹⁷

mass in mg = ?

Solution:

First we have to find no. of mole

Formula used

no. of mole = no. of molecules / Avogadro's number

Where

Avogadro's number = 6.022 x 10²³

Put values in above formula

         no. of mole = 1.2×10¹⁷ / 6.022 x 10²³

          no. of mole = 3.5×10⁻⁷

Now we have to find mass of sucrose

For this formula will use

      mass in grams = no. of moles x Molar mass . . . . . .(1)

Formula of Sucrose = C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁

Molar mass of C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ (Sucrose) = 12(12) +22(1) +11(16)

Molar mass of C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ (Sucrose) = 144 +22 + 176

Molar mass of C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ (Sucrose) = 342 g/mol

put values in equation 1

                mass in grams = 3.5×10⁻⁷ x 342 g/mol

               mass in grams = 1.2 x 10⁻⁴ g

Convert g to mg

               1 g = 1000 mg

               1.2 x 10⁻⁴ g = 1.2 x 10⁻⁴ x 1000 = 0.12 mg

mass of C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ (Sucrose) = 0.12 mg

Which statements about reducing sugars are true? D‑Glucose (an aldose) is a reducing sugar. The oxidation of a reducing sugar fo
qaws [65]

Answer:

The true statements are given below.

Explanation:

1 D glucose is a reducing sugar

2 The oxidation of reducing sugar forms a carboxylic acid sugar.

D glucose is a reducing sugar because glucose contain a free hydroxyl group (-OH)in its anomeric carbon.

The oxidation of reducing sugar result in the conversion of -CHO group in case of aldose sugar and -CH2OH group in case of ketose sugar into carboxylic acid(-COOH).

If you really keep an eye on the flow chart, the only ions you can consider as being "Definitely not present" are: Cr3+, Fe3+, and Zn2+. The rest of the ions should be considered under "Possibly present", as we cannot conclude if any of the ions are "Definitely present".

How many liters of oxygen gas, at standard
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

Answer:

Explanation:

  • For the balanced reaction:

4Fe(s) + 3O₂(g) → 2Fe₂O₃(s).

It is clear that 4 mol of Fe react with 3 mol of O₂ to produce 2 mol of Fe₂O₃.

  • Firstly, we need to calculate the no. of moles of 35.8 grams of Fe metal:

no. of moles of Fe = mass/molar mass = (35.8 g)/(55.845 g/mol) = 0.64 mol.

  • Now, we can find the no. of moles of O₂ is needed to react with the proposed amount of Fe:

Using cross multiplication:

4 mol of Fe is needed to react with → 3 mol of O₂, from stichiometry.

0.64 mol of Fe is needed to react with → ??? mol of O₂.

∴ The no. of moles of O₂ needed = (3 mol)(0.64 mol)/(4 mol) = 0.48 mol.

  • Finally, we can get the volume of oxygen using the information:

It is known that 1 mole of any gas occupies 22.4 L at standard P and T (STP).

Using cross multiplication:

1 mol of O₂ occupies → 22.4 L, at STP conditions.

0.48 mol of O₂ occupies → ??? L.

∴ The no. of liters of O₂ = (0.48 mol)(22.4 L)/(1 mol) = 10.752 L.

Plastics are synthetic, organic polymers. how are plastics similar and different to polysaccharides
yawa3891 [41]
Plastics and polysaccharides are somewhat similar because they are both polymers. Polymers are a long chain of repeating units called monomers. Their difference, however, is the identity of their monomers. Plastics have hydrocarbons as monomers. Plastics with the monomer ethene is called polyethylene. For polysaccharides, their monomers are simple sugars.
