The Penelopiad is a novel by Margaret Atwood. It was published in 2005 as part of the first set of Canongate Myth Series books, in which contemporary authors rewrite ancient myths. In the new version, Penelope remembers the events of the Odyssey. Unlike the Odyssey in Penelopiad's book, Penelope is a more active character than in the original myth being she the possessor of the facts.
