Find the geometric mean for 8 and 18

Mathematics

<h3>Answer:   12</h3>

======================================================

Work Shown:

z = geometric mean of x and y

z = sqrt(x*y)

z = sqrt(8*18)

z = sqrt(144)

z = 12

The geometric mean of 8 and 18 is 12.

The geometric mean is similar to the arithmetic mean; however instead of add up the values and divide by n, this time we're multiplying the values and then applying the square root. This only applies if we are finding the geometric mean of 2 values. If you have more values, then you'll need to take higher order roots.

Eg: if you had 3 values, then you would need to take a cube root. Four values needs a fourth root, and so on.

1 2/12 - 2/12 - 1/12=
aleksley [76]

Answer:

11/12

Step-by-step explanation:

1 2/12 = 14/12

14/12 - 2/12 - 1/12

since they all have 12, it doesn't matter until the end

14 - 2 = 12 - 1 = 11

put the /12 behind the 11 and you have an answer

A developer wants to develop a 25-acre subdivision. He figures that the streets and common area will take up about 35% of this o
lys-0071 [83]
There are 43560 SF in an acre first you want to find the total SF witch is 43560x25=1089000 SF. also the common area will take up about 35% of the overall area so do .35x1089000=381,150 and subtract that from the overall SF witch gives you 707,850 then divide this by 25000 SF for the total number of lots that the developer can have on this property witch is 28 or 28.3 rounded to the tenths.

How can you describe the graph of the equation ax + by = c? Explain
natka813 [3]

Answer:

When A and B are not both zero, the graph of Ax + By = C is always a line. The graph of Ax + By = C, where A and B are not both zero, is a line. Divide both sides by B. Because the form Ax + By = C can describe any line, it is called the standard form of an equation for a line.

Two cards are drawn, without replacement, from a standard 52-card deck. Find the probability of each of the following events: a)
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

given that two cards are  drawn, without replacement, from a standard 52-card deck.

a) Both cards are red

Here there are 26 red cards and 52 total cards.

Probability = \frac{26C2}{52C2} \\=\frac{26*25}{52*51} \\=\frac{25}{102}

b) Both cards are the same color

i.e. either both are red or both are black

Hence probability = twice of part a

= \frac{2*25}{102} \\=\frac{25}{51}

c) The second card is a queen, given that the first card is an ace.

If first card is an ace remaining are 51 cards with 4 queens\

So prob = 4/51
