A recent journal article reported that college students tend to watch an average of 12 hours of television per week. Candice, a

college senior, believes that college students at her school watch a different amount of television per week than 12 hours. To test her theory, she randomly selects 79 students from her college and asks each student to record the number of hours he/she spends watching television (on average) each week. Candice finds that her sample of students watches an average of 9.49 hours of television per week, with a 95% confidence interval from 7.60 hours to 11.37 hours. Based on this interval, should Candice reject or fail to reject the hypothesis that students at her school watch an average of 12 hours of television per week?
Answer
A. Candice should reject the null hypothesis as the 95% confidence interval does not contain 12 hours
B. Candice should fail to reject the null hypothesis as the 95% confidence interval does not contain 12 hours
C. Candice should fail to reject the null hypothesis as the 95% confidence interval contains 12 hours
D. Candice should reject the null hypothesis as there is no p-value calculated

Answer:

A. Candice should reject the null hypothesis as the 95% confidence interval does not contain 12 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Average watch hour = 12

sample size = 79

The 95% Confidence interval lies between 7.60 and 11.37.

Thus, since the average watch of students in her school does not lie within the interval between 7.60 and 11.37, Candice should reject the null hypothesis.

inessss [21]

Answer:

Aimee can save $24 by buying tickets at the lower price that is at the theater.

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you need to find the amount she would spent by buying tickets at the theater and online by using a rule of three:

Theater:

60→8

x  ←24

x=(60*24)/8=180

Online:

51→6

x ←24

x=(51*24)/6=204

Now, you need to calculate the difference:

$204-$180=$24

According to this, the answer is that Aimee can save $24 by buying tickets at the lower price that is at the theater.

Alright assuming they mean total surface area since they didn't say lateral the equation to follow would be S= Ph + 2B

Start with P:
P stands for perimeter, so add up all the edges on one face of the cube.

17 + 17 + 17 + 17 = 68
Then your equation becomes
S= 68×h + 2B
h=height and that's obviously 17
so, S= 68×17 +2B

Now to find B. This is pretty easy. All you need to do is take 17×17 because you're finding the area of the base. This equals 289.

Finally this leaves us with the equation
S= 68×17+2×289

From there on you just solve it out.
This would leave you with 1734.
