Many studies have investigated the question of whether people tend to think of an odd or an even number when they are asked to t

hink of a single-digit number (0 through 9). Combining results from several studies, Kubovy and Psotka (1976) used a sample of 1,770 people, of whom 741 thought of an even number and 1,029 thought of an odd number. Answer:

A two-sided alternative hypothesis would be more appropriate in this case

Step-by-step explanation:

A one-sided hypothesis is one that asserts that a given parameter is either smaller than the null hypothesis value or larger than the value presented by the null hypothesis.

However in a two sided hypothesis, the claim is made that a given parameter is not equal to the parameter given in the null hypothesis, such that the parameter can be either larger than than or lesser than the value of the null hypothesis and still satisfy the condition of the hypothesis

Therefore, given for that for there to be a conclusion, the test should be weather the number of people that think of an odd number are equal to the number of people that think of an even number, or weather the number of people that think of an odd number are not equal to the number of people that think of an even number

Therefore, a two-sided hypothesis should be used since the claim (that the numbers are not equal) is not equal to the value of the parameter in the null hypothesis (that the numbers are equal)

Answer:

Answer is 6

Step-by-step explanation:

ok so

8x 3 is 24.

24 is then divided by 12 (4 x 3) to equal 4

4 x 8 x 3 is 96

96 divided by 4 is 24

24 divided by 4 is 6.

A: 2, 3, 10, and 12<br>y: 2/3, 1, 10/3, and 4<br>Constant of proportionality: <br>Equation: y =
stepladder [879]

Constant of proportionality  : \frac{1}{3}

Equation: y = ka

How are the values calculated?

a: 2, 3, 10, and 12

y: 2/3, 1, 10/3, and 4

Let the constant of proportionality = k

If x and y are directly proportional ,

We know , k = \frac{y}{x}

Here, k = \frac{y}{a}

Considering y = 2/3 and a =2

k =   \frac{2}{3*2} =   \frac{2}{6}  =  \frac{1}{3}

Thus, the constant of proportionality ( k) =  \frac{1}{3}

The equation y is given by ,

y =  ka

Let us verify,

For k = 1/3 and a = 12

y=\frac{1}{3} *12\\\\y=4

Thus the equation is y = ka

What is constant of proportionality?

  • The constant value of the ratio between two proportional values is known as the constant of proportionality.
  • When the ratio or product of two changing quantities gives a constant, the two are said to be in a relation of proportionality.
  • The type of proportion between the two specified variables affects the constant of proportionality's value.
  • The formula y = kx can be used to determine the value of "k" in a direct proportionality.
  • Direct proportionality  follows that k = y/x.

Find the measure of the indicated angle to the nearest degree.
fredd [130]

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the measure of required angle be x degree

\therefore \tan \: x =  \frac{33}{56}  \\  \\ \therefore \tan \: x =  0.589285714  \\  \\ \therefore  \: x =   {\tan}^{ - 1} (0.589285714)  \\  \\  \therefore  \: x =   {\tan}^{ - 1} ( \tan \: 30.510237394 \degree) \\  \\    \huge \red{ \boxed{\therefore  \: x =   31\degree}}

Thus, first option is the correct answer.
