I think it would be a connection to one or more of the cast/characters in the book but don't take my word for it

I would say her connection with the character. Her similarities, interest, and how they both act, talk, and do their everyday life might get her intrigued. It might want to make her read more, and see their similarities. You can connect with each character in different ways.
