Should young children watch television? In my opinion yes and no. Yes because it could be beneficial and help them learn about friends and why bullying is never okay since some cartoons help create that imagery. However, most shows don’t create a positive image most of the time. There has been multiple studies that young children watching television can cause negative effects including, their language development, reading skills, and their short term memory. It can also contribute to sleeping problems. There should be a limit on the screen time a young child is on. Like 1 or 2 hours and no more then 3. A lot of factors can affect a child especially television depending on why they see. There should be restrictions on what they see and hear. So they don’t take it and rely it upon someone or something else and get in trouble.
