Harry enjoys dark roast coffee because he thinks drinking it makes him look quite sophisticated. In order to stomach it, however

, he puts three containers of creamer into every cup of coffee so it is not too bitter. Harry only enjoys coffee in this combination. With less creamer the coffee is too bitter and he won't drink it; with more creamer the coffee is too sweet and also undrinkable. With coffee and creamer in the right proportions, however, Harry is always happy to have more coffee and creamer. His utility function can be written as follows: u(x,y) = min(3x,y), where x is cups of coffee y is containers of creamer.
Required:
Suppose that Harry drinks one cup of coffee with his preferred three packs of creamer every day for seven days. What is his utility for that week?

Answer:

Answer is explained in the explanation section below.

Explanation:

Function given:

u(x,y) = min(3x,y)

Where, x = cups of coffee

y = containers of creamer.

From the above equation, we know that:

3x = y

For a week, Harry consumes 7 cups of coffee with 21 containers of creamers.

Thus,

u(x,y) = min (3x,y)

u(x,y) = min (3x7,21)

u(x,y) = min (21,21)

u(x,y) = 21

Now, if Harry 21 containers, he will get 28 (21 +7)

Thus,

u(x,y) = min(3x,y)

u(x,y) = min(3x7,28)

u(x,y) = min(21,28)

u(x,y) = 21

Additional 7 containers are useless cup of coffee and 3 containers of creamer are used together. Thus, for 7 cups of coffee Harry only needs 21 containers of creamer.

Explanation:

The Nominal Group Technique (NGT) is a method of brainstorming ideas in a group that starts by having the members writing down their perceptions on certain matters to later expose them to the rest of the group. Collectively, all the group members decide which idea is the best to solve the issue they have in common.

Under those circumstances,<em> the NGT treats each of the opinions of the individuals involved equally regardless of the hierarchy they may occupy in the group.</em>

A department adds all raw materials to a process at the beginning of the process and incurs conversion costs uniformly throughou
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

The equivalent units of production for conversion costs for the month of January is 78,760 units

Explanation:

The computation of the equivalent units of production for the conversion cost is shown below:

We know that,

Ending work in progress inventory = Units started - units completed

20,900 units = 91,300 units - units completed

So, units completed = 91,300 units -20,900 units = 70,400 units

It is given in the question that 40% ending work in progress inventory units is completed,

So completed units = 20,900 × 40% = 8,360 units

And,the equivalent units of production equals to

= Units completed + completed units in ending inventory

= 70,400 units + 8,360 units

= 78,760 units

Ervin Company uses the allowance method to account for uncollectible accounts receivable. Bad debt expense is established as a p
bixtya [17]

Answer:

$90,000

Explanation:

Given data

Net credit sales = $6,000,000

The estimated bad debt percentage is 1.50%

Credit balance in  allowance for uncollectible accounts = $42,000

Adjusted balance = $40,000

The computation of the bad debt expense is shown below:

= Net credit sales × estimated bad debt percentage

= $6,000,000 × 1.50%

= $90,000

By multiplying the net credit sales with the estimated bad debt percentage we get the bad debt expense and the same is applied in the above calculation
