Mitochondria is known as the power house of the cell where cellular respiration takes place in the cell especially the Aerobic respiration's Krebs Cycle/Citric Acid cycle/tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle with the enzymes contained in its matrix which metabolizes nutrients into by-products the mitochondrion can use for energy production.
The main organelle involved in respiration is the mitochondria. It's known as the powerhouse of the cell due to the fact that 32 ATP are created from this organelle.
