The big challenge of the Hanford Site is the presence of nuclear waste in the soil. The liquid waste of nuclear reactor that had been poured onto the ground or thrown into ponds are evaporated or absorbed by the soil on the Site. Due to this absorption the waste contaminate some of the soil. The big benefits of this site is the end of world war II because this site was used to produce plutonium which can be used in atomic bomb. This site comprise of 586-square-miles of shrub-steppe desert that is located in the southeastern Washington State.
