In the figure CD is the perpendicular bisector of AB . If the length of AC is 2x and the length of BC is 3x - 5 . The value of x

Answer

Find out the value of x .

SAS congurence property

In this property two sides and one angle of the two triangles are equal.

in the Δ ADC and ΔBDC

(1) CD = CD (common side of both the triangle)

(2) ∠CDA = ∠ CDB = 90 °

( ∠CDA +∠ CDB = 180 ° (Linear pair)

as given in the diagram

∠CDA  = 90°

∠ CDB = 180 ° - 90°

∠ CDB = 90°)

(3) AD = DB (as shown in the diagram)

Δ ADC ≅ ΔBDC

by using the SAS congurence property .

AC = BC

(Corresponding sides of the congurent triangle)

As given

the length of AC is 2x and the length of BC is 3x - 5 .

2x = 3x - 5

3x -2x =5

x = 5

The value of x is 5 .

Hence proved

Find the distance between the two points.<br> (-6, -7) and (154, - 43)
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

(160, 36)

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance is always positive because, well, you aren't -50 meters away from your house or something. You are just 50 meters away from your house. And 160 is the distance between -6 and 154, because there is one minus and one plus, you add them, because that is how far they are apart, and then-43 and -7 were easy just subtract them.

A washer and a dryer cost $995 combined. The washer cost $45 more than the dryer. What is the cost of the dryer?
Talja [164]

When a washer and a dryer cost $995 combined. If  the washer cost $45 more than the dryer, then the cost of the dryer is $475

The combined cost of a washer and a dryer = $995

Consider the cost of a dryer as x

The washer cost $45 more than the dryer.

The cost of the washer = x+45

Then the equation will be

x+x+45 = 995

2x+45 = 995

2x = 950

x = 950/2

x = 475

The cost of the dryer is $475

Hence, when a washer and a dryer cost $995 combined. If  the washer cost $45 more than the dryer, then the cost of the dryer is $475
