Reptile [31]

Using the percentile concept, it is found that 10 students scored lower than he did.

What is the meaning of the percentile of a measure?

When a measure is in the xth percentile of a data-set, it is greater than x% of the measures and lesser than (100 - x)%.

In this problem, he scored on the 20th percentile, that is, higher than 20% of the 50 students. Then:

0.2 x 50 = 10.

10 students scored lower than he did.

A 90 % confidence interval for the average salary of all CEOs in the electronics industry was constructed using the results of a
alisha [4.7K]

Answer: D) Increase the sample size and decrease the confidence level.

Step-by-step explanation:

A reduced interval width means that the data is more accurate. This can only be achieved if the sample size is increased because a larger sample size is able to capture more of the characteristics of the variables being tested.

A smaller confidence interval will also lead to a reduced interval width because it means that the chances of the prediction being correct have increased.

Need Help Badly
What is the solution
Kamila [148]
Sqrt(1-3x)=x+3
[sqrt(1-3x)]^2=(x+3)^2
1-3x=(x+3)(x+3)
1-3x=x^2+6x+9
-3x=x^2+6x+8
0=x^2+9x+8

The answers are -1 and -8 BUT, we have to plug them back into the original equation to make sure we don't get a negative under the square root sign.

After doing this, we realize that only -1 works, so the answer is x=-1

Sorry that this took forever to answer. I was thinking of a good way to explain this, and if you need any further explanation, message me:)

Best wishes:)

there are 21 marbles in a blue jar. the blue jars has 3 times as many marbles as a red jar. let m be the number of marbles in th
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

m=7

Step-by-step explanation:

1 blue jar = 21 marbles

1 blue jar = 3 red jars

Therefor

21 marbles= 3 red jars

(Now let m=1 red jar)

21= 3m

(Then sine we have 3m dived both sides by 3 to isolate the m)

21/3= 3m/3

7=m
