It's more efficient, allows you to get work done faster. Work done on a computer takes up less space than a stack of papers. It may be easier for teachers to read, since some students may have untidy handwriting. If you make a mistake, instead of starting all over or crossing out work, making it look messy, you can just undo whatever you just did. You can format your work in a wide variety of ways to suit you.
