The apartheid is well known as a South African form of racial segregation much similar to the ones in America during the 1900s. Mandela was one of the main figures during the movement to abolish apartheid and eith his fight helped gained support to the anti apartheid movement. When he was released from prison he helped eradicate apartheid which helped him gain support for his incoming presidential run.
