But if you want work you have to find the slope then plug in.

To find the slope use points (1, -2) and (2, 1) use this formula $\frac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1}$

Plug the points in $\frac{1 - -2}{2-1} =\frac{3}{1} = 3$

So your slope is 3

NOw Plug In (1, -2)

-2 = 3(1) + b (b represents the y- intercept)

-2 = 3 + b (subtract 3 on both sides)

-5 = b

The final equation is y = 3x - 5
