The following data were obtained in a study taken on a horizontal milling machine: Parts produced per cycle: 8. Average measured

cycle time: 8.36 minutes. Average measured stress time per cycle: 4.62 minutes. Average fast traverse time: 0.08 minutes. Average cutting time with electrical power: 3.66 minutes. Performance rating: 115%. Clearance (machine time): 10%. Slack (effort time): 15%. The operator works on the task 8 hours a day and produces 380 parts. How many standard hours does the operator work

Answer:

8.04 ≈ 8 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data:

parts produced per cycle = 8

Average measured cycle time = 8.36 minutes

Average measured stress time per cycle ( observed workers time) = 4.62 minutes

e.t.c

<u>Determine the number of standard hours the operator works </u>

Given that the operator works for 8 hours a day and produces 380 parts

<em>First : calculate the normal time for worker and machine</em> ( Normal time = ( observed worker time * performance rating ) / 100

Normal time for worker =  (4.62* 115) / 100 = 5.31 mins

Normal time for machine = (observed cycle time - observed worker time ) = 8.36 - 4.62 = 3.74 mins

Next; determine the Total standard time for Machine and worker  = ( normal time * ( 1 + Allowance factor )

Standard Time For Worker = 5.313* (1 + 0.1) = 5.84 mins

while Standard Time for Machine = 3.74 *( 1 + 0.15) = 4.30 mins

Total standard time = 5.84 + 4.3 = 10.14 mins

Finally determine the standard hours the operator works

Standard hours  = (Standard Piece Time* Pieces produced) / 60

where ; Standard piece time  = Standard time / pieces per cycle = 10.14 / 8 = 1.27 mins

hence ; Standard hours  = ( 1.27 * 380 ) / 60 = 8.04 hours

A store bought a tent for $230 andmarked it up 65%. The store sells thetent with an 8% tax, what is the totalcost of the tent?
Len [333]

The cost for buying the tent is $230.

65% was increasesd for selling. Then the rate is

\begin{gathered} 230\times\frac{65}{100}=14.95 \\ So,\text{ the marked price=230+14.95=}244.95 \end{gathered}

The tax is 8%. So this is from the marked price.

\begin{gathered} \frac{8}{100}\times244.95=19.56 \\ 244.95-19.56=225.39 \end{gathered}

Therefore the total cost of the tent is $225.39.

What is the 37th term of the arithmetic sequence with the first term -39 and the common difference of 8.
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

a_{37}=249

Step-by-step explanation:

A sequence that has a common difference is an <em>arithmetic sequence</em>:

a_n=a_1+(n-1)d

where aₙ is the nth term, n is the index, and d is the common difference.

In your question:

  • n = 37
  • a₁ = -39
  • d = 8

Plug those into the formula:

a_{37}=-39+(37-1)8

Then solve:

a_{37}=-39+(36)8\\a_{37}=-39+288\\a_{37}=249
