Helps pls Three generous friends, each with some cash, redistribute their money as follows: Ami gives enough money to Jan and To

y to double the amount that each has. Jan then gives enough to Ami and Toy to double their amounts. Finally, Toy gives Ami and Jan enough to double their amounts. If Toy has $36 when they begin and $36 when they end, what is the total amount that all three friends have?

Answer:

The total amount that all three friends have = $258

Step-by-step explanation:

Three friends: let their initial money be Ami's money =A, Jan = B, Toy = C

Toy started with $36 and ended with same amount

C = $36

After Ami gives, She is left with= A-x

Jan becomes= 2B

Toy becomes= 2C = 2×36 = 72

After Jan gives, Jan is left with = 2B-y

Ami now has = 2(A-x)

Toy now has = 2(72) = 144

After Toy gives, Toy is left with= 144-z

Ami now has = 2(2)(A-x) = 4(A-x)

Jan now has = 2(2B-y)

Since Toy is left with $36 at the end:

36 = 144-z

z = 144-36 = 108

So Toy spent $108 to double his two other friend's money

Both Amy and Jan had $108 in total when Toy had $144

Difference between the deductions across = $108

The total amount that all three friends have = 144+108

The total amount that all three friends have= $258

Which functions have the same rate of change?
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

Option 3

Step-by-step explanation:

All equations are in slope-intercept form. y=mx+b

The 'm' is the slope.

The 'b' is the y-intercept.

The slope is also known as the rate of change. So, we would have to look at what replaces 'm' and select two equations that have the same rate of change.

Let's look over the equations:

Equation A:

y=0.3x-6

In this equation, 0.3 replaces 'm', so the rate of change for this equation is 0.3.

Equation B:

y=3x-8

In this equation, 3 replaces 'm', so the rate of change for this equation is 3.

Equation C:

y=0.3x+4

In this equation, 0.3 replaces 'm', so the rate of change for this equation is 0.3.

Equation D:

y=0.03x+1

In this equation, 0.03 replaces 'm', so the rate of change for this equation is 0.03.

Equation C and equation A have 0.3 as the slope. Since the question asks for two equations that have the same rate of change, the answer would be Equations A and C, or Option 3.

a ball is thrown vertically upward from the ground with an initial velocity of 60 ft/sec. how high will the ball go?
vazorg [7]

Answer:

The ball will go to maximum height of 56.25 meters.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that, a ball is thrown vertically upward from the ground. Initial velocity of the ball, v = 60 ft/sec

Initial height is 0 as the ball is thrown from ground. The equation of projectile is given by :

h(t)=-16t^2+vt+h

h = 0

h(t)=-16t^2+60t..............(1)

We need to find the maximum height reached by the ball. For maximum height,

\dfrac{dh(t)}{dt}=0

\dfrac{d(-16t^2+60t)}{dt}=0

t = 1.875 seconds

Put the values of t in equation (1). So,

h(t)=-16(1.875)^2+60(1.875)

h(t) = 56.25 meters

So, the ball will go to maximum height of 56.25 meters. Hence, this is teh required solution.
