Due to the tilt of the axis certain parts of Earth receive more direct sun rays than others. So if the Northern hemisphere is tilting towards the sun its summer in the northern hemisphere but winter in the Southern hemisphere. Then if the Southern hemisphere is tilting towards the sun its summer and then winter in the Northern hemisphere.
