These 2 angles add up to 180 so
(10x-20)+(6x+8)=180
First combine like terms
10x+6x=16x
-20+8=-12
So
16x-12=180
we then want to get x on the side by itself.
So we'll add 12 to both sides, the equation is now
16x=192
Then divide 192/16x=12

so x=12

Y=-3/2x+9 2x+2y=16 how to solve it by using substitution
ycow [4]
Equation 1) y = -3/2x + 9
Equation 2) 2x + 2y = 16

Add 3/2x to both sides of equation 1.

1) 3/2x + y = 9

Then, multiply all of equation one by 2.

1) 2(3/2x + y = 9)

1) 3x + 2y = 18
2) 2x + 2y = 16

Subtract.

x = 2

Plug in 2 for x in the first equation.

y=-3/2x+9

y = -3/2(2) + 9

y = -3 + 9

y = 6

So, x=2 and y = 6

Oliver and Layla each built a rectangular prism with centimeter cubes. Both prisms have a volume of 24 cubic centimeters but the
BaLLatris [955]

Possible Dimensions of one prism are; 2cm, 3 cm and 4cm

Possible Dimensions of second prism are; 1 cm, 4 cm, 6 cm

How to find the dimensions of a rectangular Prism?

We are told that volume of both rectangular prisms is; V = 24 cm³

Now, formula for Volume of a rectangular prism is;

V = lwh

where;

l is length

w is width

h is height

Thus, to solve this, we have to look for multiples of 24 which are;

1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24.

Now, we must pick 3 numbers from the above in which their products will be equal to 24.

Thus;

Possible Dimensions of one prism are; 2cm, 3 cm and 4cm

Possible Dimensions of second prism are; 1 cm, 4 cm, 6 cm
