Solve the following system of equation by using the method of substitution. x + 2y = -1 and 2x – 3y =12
Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

x = 3

y = -2

Step-by-step explanation:

x + 2y = -1

2x – 3y =12

Using substitution means that in one equation you solve for a variable. In this case, the first equation would be easier to solve for x since there are no coefficients.

x = -2y - 1

Now, we plug in the value of x into the second equation, and solve for y.

2 (-2y - 1) - 3y = 12

-4y - 2 - 3y = 12

-7y - 2 = 12

-7y = 14

y = -2

Since we have a numerical value of y, we can use it to solve for x by plugging it into one of the original equations.

x + 2(-2) = -1

x - 4 = - 1

x = 3

If you'd like to check the answer, plug in both values you got to the original equations!

I hope this helps!

If f(x) = 4x - 3, what is (f^-1 o f)(10)?
RSB [31]
F(x)=(4x-3)^-1(10))
         (-4x+3(10))
           (-4x(30))
i think that's how you would solve it i can't quite remember if you substitute the x with the 10 but if you do it would be
f(x)=4(10)-3
          40-3
            37
but im pretty sure it's the first way.

A and B are independent events.

P(A) = 0.40
P(B) = 0.30

What is P(A/B)
Lelechka [254]

Answer: Hello mate!

Two independent events, mean that the fact that, if the event A occurred, this has no effect in the probability of the event B to occur after.

For example, a coin flip.

The first result has no effect on the next result.

Then the notation P(A/B) is the probability of the event A when the event B occurred before, but as we know, the fact that the event B occurred before has no effect in it; so:

P(A/B) = P(A) = 0.30

HELP! I NEED MORE THAN 5 SENTENCES!!
Ksenya-84 [330]

Answer:

I would assess what type of learner my student was by seeing which form of teaching they respond best to. I would try to cover all 7 types of learning by going through different examples. I would lead by explaining the concept and then start to work through at least 3 examples. I would then ask them to finish certain parts and eventually watch them work one out on their own. One of the key things I would make sure to do is personalize the learning experience. I would offer stories and situations that they may be able to relate to or remember when completing the problem.
