People are naturally going to live near clean water sources, that way it's easier to survive, so people are more likely to live near or in an oasis than in a hot dry area like a desert.

I don't think there is a big different at all but what I know is that Norway is colder and has more rain.
Another different is because Spain is closer to the equator but Norway is closer to the arctic.
