Yes I do because it is good for the community and themselves. It is also good to have the character trait of service. :)

Answer:

I think that it'd be beneficial, but it shouldn't be necessary. I get it for high school hours and stuff, but for 8th grade that seems kind of excessive.

Explanation:

On the other hand, it'd be good for them to have that experience before they go into high school.
