There are 12 inches in a foot so we can work this problem out in inches 3/5 is 80%......80% of 12 inches is 9.6 inches ....1/4 is 3 inches and 2/3 is 8 inches so we have 9.6,3,and8 now we multiply 9.6*3*8 for the answer to be 230.4 inches squared

Jimmy ran 3 miles west from home and then turned north and jogged 4 miles. in a straight line, how far is jimmy from home?
balu736 [363]
If u were to draw this out, u would have the shape of a right triangle....with the legs being 3 miles and 4 miles......and a straight line would be the hypotenuse. So we use the pythagorean theorem.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2
3^2 + 4^2 = c^2
9 + 16 = c^2
25 = c^2
sqrt 25 = c
5 = c

so Jimmy is 5 miles from home

Considering the situation described, the confidence interval is given by:

(0.35, 0.51).

What is a confidence interval?

It is given by the estimate plus/minus the margin of error.

For this problem, we have that:

 • The estimate is of 0.43.
 • The margin of error is half the range of the observations, hence M = (0.48 - 0.32)/2 = 0.08.

Then, the bounds of the interval are given by:

 • 0.43 - 0.08 = 0.35.
 • 0.43 + 0.08 = 0.51.
