Answer:

- The ovary is the female organ that produces the female gametes

- The oviducts are tubes that extend from the ovaries to the uterus

- The uterus is an organ that acts to nourish and house a fertilized egg until the fetus is delivered

- Materials are supplied by the mother's placenta

Explanation:

The ovaries are the female gonads that function to produce and release female gametes (i.e., oocytes) into the reproductive tract. These organs are also in charge of producing female hormones (e.g. progesterone). The oviducts, also known as fallopian tubes, are a pair of tubes that extend from each ovary to the top of the uterus. The uterus is a thick muscular organ of the female reproductive system that nourishes and houses the embryo and fetus. Finally, materials such as oxygen and nutrients pass from the mother's bloodstream through the placenta which is connected to the fetus by the umbilical cord.

Consider a species with a 2n or diploid chromosome number of 4. if gametes were formed by mitosis rather than meiosi, what would
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]
Mitosis is a type of cell division that takes place in the somatic cells where two daughter cells are formed with the same number of chromosomes as the parent (diploid 2n). Meiosis is a type of cell division that takes place in the sex cells where four daughter cells are formed with half the number of chromosomes as the parent (haploid, n). In this case, if the gametes were formed by mitosis then it means they would have a diploid (2n) number of chromosomes.

A child holds a red ball. Why does the ball look red?
Tasya [4]

Answer:

D) All visible light waves except red are absorbed by the ball

Explanation:

When we see things that are a certain color, it is because the object is absorbing all the visible light waves except the one we are seeing. In this case, the ball is absorbing every color on the visible spectrum except for red. Red is being reflected back towards the child's eye which is why the child sees the ball as red.
