The two advantages are: 1) Modern high yield agriculture has been able to keep pace with the ever increasing population by achieving a much greater productivity than times of old. 2) With the discovery of hybridization and plant genetics modern high yield agriculture is able to produce a hybrid of many crops with overly nutritious fruit within the shortest possible time for man's consumption. There are many harmful environmental effects of agriculture including but not limited to Land conversion and habitat loss. Wasteful water consumption. Soil erosion and degradation to mention a few. Soil erosion is the wearing away of top layer of the soil which contains most organic, nutrient-rich materials caused primarily by water and wind. The harmful effects of soil erosion are soil compaction, low organic matter, loss of soil structure, poor internal drainage, salinisation and soil acidity

1.High yield modern agriculture refers to the practice of breeding genetically modified crops or using fertilizer to increase the production yield of planted crops. Two advantage of high yield modern agriculture are:
1. Production of large quantities of planted crops.
2. Ability to select and breed plants with superior qualities.

2. Agriculture have some negative influence on the environment, the major harmful environmental impacts of agriculture are:
a. Habitat loss: Agricultural practices present great danger to species and ecosystem. This is because, farmed areas serve as habitats for different types of wild plants and animals. Farming the areas makes these living organisms to lose their habitats and these throw the ecosystem into imbalance.
b. Soil erosion and degradation: When natural vegetation are converted into agricultural lands, the breaking up of the soil leads to erosion, which wash away the top soil and the nutrients that are embedded in it.
c. Pollution: The chemicals that are used during farming operations, such as fertilizers, pesticides, etc. cause pollution of the air and the surrounding waters.
3. Soil erosion is the process by which the top layers of soils are carried away by agents such as wind and water. The biggest negative effect of soil erosion is the loss of top soil. The top soil is the part of the soil that contain most of the nutrients that plants use to grow. When this part of the soil is lost, the soil usually becomes non fertile. Soil erosion can also lead to water pollution. When soils are eroded from the farm lands and carried to the surrounding waters, the waters will be polluted by the chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers, which are had been used on the soils. This can lead to the death of the animals that are living in the waters.

____________________ is the amount of biologically productive land and water needed to supply the people in a particular country
ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer: Ecological footprint

Explanation:

Ecological footprint simply refers to the ways in which the effect of human activities are measured in terms of the area of biologically productive land and water required to produce the goods consumed and to incorporate the wastes generated. In ecological footprint, there available productive land and water needed to supply the people in a particular country or area with an endless supply of renewable resources and to absorb and recycle the wastes and pollution produced by such resource use.

What type of succession
will occur if a parking lot
is abandoned for 1000
years?
insens350 [35]

Answer:

Primary Succession

Explanation:

Because no organisms previously lived on it. Parking lots can be considered

like rocks, which also undergo primary succession. Overtime soil will be blown onto the parking lot and if not maintained plants

will begin to grow thus starting new life.

The cells of a mature pea plant have 14 chromosomes. how many chromosomes does a nucleus in the pea endosperm contain?
DIA [1.3K]

If pea plant cells contain 14 chromosomes, a pea plant's gamete cell contains 7 chromosomes.

Describe chromosomes.

Chromosomes are a pair of thread-like structures that are found in cells.

Re genes and a person's personality are found on the chromosomes.

Meiosis causes the daughter cells to contain half of each chromosome.

What does a chromosome do primarily?

Chromosomes' primary role is to transport DNA, which is the building block of all genetic material. DNA contains the genetic instructions for a number of cellular processes. These activities are necessary for the organisms' development, maintenance, and procreation. Chromosomes are shielded by proteins like histones.

Word bank: sugar, carbon dioxide, light energy, oxygen, atp, water
statuscvo [17]
My guess is that you're wanting the formula for respiration (which is basically the opposite of the formula for photosynthesis)?
So on the left (reactant/inputs) side should be: sugar and oxygen
On the right (products/outputs) side should be:
Carbon dioxide, water, light energy/ATP
