Answer:

1. Each pencil cost .90 cents each. So if they want to make a profit of 75 cents each they will get $9 for a dozen pencils. They must charge 75 cents.

2.  Several means 4 but in this case, it means 36. When you divide 252 by 7 you get 36. Because each case is $7 and the total is 252.

3. The percent markup for each jersey was around 65%. They almost doubled the price by 6.50. They would make $3543.75 if they sold all the jerseys at the homecoming game.

4. The truck took 12 hours to reach its destination.

5. She would be repaying $ 1,152.00 in one year.

I hope this helps. I did not do 6 and 7 because I hope these help you figure those out. : )

A teacher has a box of pens and pencils. There are 8 more pencils than pens. After the students take 1 pen and 5 pencils from th
crimeas [40]
Let no. of pens be x.

Pens : x
Pencils: x+8

Total: 2x+8

Student takes 1 pen and 5 pencils.

Remainder: 2x+8 - 5 -1 = 2x+2
2x+2 = 26
2x= 24
x = 12 (original no. of pens)
x+ 8 = 20 (original no of pencils)

There are 12 pens at first and 20 pencils.
After 1 pen is taken, 11 pens are left.
After 5 pencils are taken, 20-5=15 pencils are left.

A recipe uses 5 cups of milk to make 10 servings. If the same amount of milk is used for each serving, how many servings can be
Margaret [11]

Answer: 24 servings

Step-by-step explanation:

First and foremost, we should note that:

4 cups = 1 quart

Therefore, 3 quarts = 3 × 4 cups = 12 cups

Since she uses 5 cups of milk to make 10 servings, it means that 1 cup of milk is used to make 2 servings. Therefore, 12 cups would be used to make:

= 12 × 2

= 24 servings.
