Find the interquartile range (IQR) of the data in the dot plot below

Mathematics
1 answer:
Nonamiya [84]3 years ago
3 0

Answer:

2 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

As we know, the iqr is found by subtracting Q3-Q1. So that means we need to find them first. Finding the median will help us accomplish this task. So when writing out the numbers to solve it 81,82,83,83,84,84,84,85 because the amount of data points are an even number, we will have two data points which will help us solve our median which in this case is where the 83 and 84 meet. Our median is thus 83+84/2 which is 83.5. Now look on both sides of the two numbers which make up our median. On either side of the 2 data points needed for the median, the is another 3 data points. To find your q1 and q3, you need to find the median of these numbers. For Q1 look for the median between the numbers 81,82,83 and for Q3, look for the median in the numbers 84,84,85. So, knowing this information, our Q1 value is 82 and our Q3 value is 84. So..... input these into the equation we have up top which is Q3-Q1=IQR so...... 84-82=IQR, thus, our IQR is 2.

HELP NEEDED PLEASE!!!! This math question confuses me. I thought the line didn't pass through any other point but I cant figure
Vanyuwa [196]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

So wiggly, remember that slope is change in y/change in x, or in simpler terms, y/x. Thinking of this, y/x must simplyfy to -3. Or, you can think of it as -3/1.

So know that we have rewrote this as a slope of -3/1, lets use it. Where do we start? Well, we must start at point A, which is at 2 x and 7 y.

Now, going to the  RIGHT(+1x) and going DOWN(-3y) we will go from 2x and 7y to 3x and 4y.

Are we on a point yet? Nope, lets do this again.

Now going to RIGHT again(+1x) and going DOWN again(-3y) we will go from 13x and 4y to 4x and 1y.

Are we on a point yet? Still no, lets try this one more time.

Now going to RIGHT again(+1x) and going DOWN again(-3y) we will go from 4x and 1y to 5x and -2y.

Are we on a point? YUP. We cna see that point B is at 5x and -2y.

Hope you get it right ;)

Which statement would be true if you evaluate the expression (560x70) ÷10
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

none

Step-by-step explanation:

No choice is correct.

The original expression has 560 x 70, the product of 560 and 70 inside the parentheses.

(560 x 70) ÷ 10 is 10 times smaller than 560 x 70

None of the choices show 560 x 70. They show 560 + 70 and 560 - 70.

Answer: none

Use distributive law evaluate
Cerrena [4.2K]

Answer:

The distributive property allows you multiply a sum in parenthesis by multiplying each addend separately, then add the products.

Step-by-step explanation:

How to use the distributive law example.

2(x+4) = 16

To use the distributive law in this example multiply 3 by all terms in the parenthesis. Multiply 2 and x, then 2 and 4 to open the parenthesis.

2x+8=16

That is how you use the distributive law.

To continue solving, subtract 8 from both sides.

2x+8-8=16-8

2x=8

Divide 2 from both sides.

2x/2=8/2

x=4

Hope this helps!

If not, I am sorry.
