Answer: 36

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Willie number of home run he represented by x.

Since ted w hit 8 more home runs than willie M, Ted home runs = x + 8

Since Joe D hit 5 more home runs than ted w, Joe D home run will be: = x + 8 + 5 = x + 13

Since they hit 105 home runs together, this will be represented as:

x + (x+8) + (x+13) = 105

x + x + 8 + x + 13 = 105

3x + 21 = 105

3x = 105 - 21

3x = 84

x = 84/3

x = 28

Number of Ted home run will be:

= x + 8

= 28 + 8

= 36

The perimeter of a rectangle is 28.8 cm. The length of the rectangle is twice as long as the width. Find the length and width of
wolverine [178]

Answer:

Length=9.34 cm\\\\Width=4.67 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of the rectangle is the sum of all its four sides that can be find by:

Perimeter=2(Length+Width)

Length=2*Width

For, Perimeter=28.8 cm

28=2(2*Width+Width)\\\\28=2*(2W+W)\\\\28=2(3W)\\\\3W=28/2\\\\3W=14\\\\W=14/3\\\\W=4.67 cm\\\\length=2*Width\\\\=4.67*2\\\\=9.34 cm\\\\

Length=9.34 cm\\\\Width=4.67 cm

What is the value of x in the figure?
34kurt

Answer:

29

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we know that the x-axis is 180 degrees and the square looking symbol represents that it is 90 degrees, we know that the other side has to also equal 90 degrees since 180-90=90.

To find the x, we need to subtract 90 from 61, which would give us 90-61 = 29.

Problem 4:
Kipish [7]

Answer:

12cm and 16cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The hypotenuse of the right angle triangle  = 20cm

 let the other two sides be x and y;

 The difference;

                x  = y - 4

Problem:

Find x and y;

Solution:

According to the pythagoras theorem;

    x² + y² = 20²  ------ i

       x² + y² = 400 ----- i

and  x - y = 4 ---- ii

So;   x = 4 + y

Now input the value into equation (i);

  (y + 4)² + y² = 400

   (y+4)(y+4) + y² = 400

    y² + y² + 4y + 4y + 16 = 400

    2y² + 8y + 16 = 400

    2y² + 8y + 16 -400 = 0

   2y² + 8y - 384 = 0;

      y² + 4y - 192 = 0

Factorize the equation;

  y² + 16y - 12y - 192 = 0

  y(y + 16) - 12(y + 16) = 0

  (y-12)(y + 16) = 0

     y -12 = 0 or y+ 16 = 0

     y = 12 or -16

It is not realistic for the length of a body to be a negative value, so y= 12;

   since;

    x - y = 4,

    x = 4 + 12

    x = 16
