Kalahari desert is characterized by low aridity. This region receives low annual rainfall but compared to other deserts it is able to sustain the wide variety of flora. It comprises of herbs, grasses, acacia trees, melon, kiwano fruit, hedged gourd, and other varieties which are specific to these deserts. It is a semi-arid savannah exists in the Southern Africa, also exists in some areas of South Africa and Namibia.
