Richard Nixon's domestic policies mark a conservative turn as he support free market, universal income and new federalism policy and the ways by which Nixon known as liberal or liberal approach to governing is that  Nixon support freedom of citizens and prevent interference of state in public life.

Many people refer to Nixon and his presidency as "complicated" (sometimes "contradictory"). His supporters include liberal, centrist, and conservative academics. He advocate low taxes, free markets, deregulation, privatization, and reduced government spending and government debt. That's he considered as conservative.

He also known as liberal due to his reform in domestic and foreign policy. He adopted policy of  détente with both nations and  in national level he adopted the policy of less interference in economy.
