The error is in step 2. if you are performing an operation on one side of the equation, it must be performed on the entire expression. you can’t only divide by 2 on one term, you must do it to everything in the equation. instead, you could add 6 to both sides first, giving you 2x = -4. Then you can divide by 2 on both sides. the answer is -2.

Answer:

A.

SA= \frac{2}{3} \pi rl+16 \pi r^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Surface area of the original cone

SA= \pi r l + \pi r^2... (1)

When, radius is quadrupled and slant height is reduced to one sixth

i. e. \: \:r = 4r\: \: \&\:\: l= \frac{1}{6}l

Plug the above values of r and l in equation (1), new surface area becomes:

SA= \pi (4r)\times \frac{1}{6} l+ \pi (4r)^2

SA= \frac{4}{6} \pi rl+16 \pi r^2

\huge \purple {\boxed {SA= \frac{2}{3} \pi rl+16 \pi r^2}}

Evaluate the piece-defined function for the given of x by matching the domain values with the range values
Elenna [48]

Answer:

The correct answer is:

(1) d

(2) b

(3) a

(4) c

(5) e

Step-by-step explanation:

The given problem is incomplete. Find the attachment of the full question.

According to the question,

(1)

By putting x = -2, we get

f(x)=(-2)^3-5

       =-8-5

       =-13

(2)

By putting x = 0, we get

f(x)=(0)^3-5

       =0-5

       =-5

(3)

By putting x = 3, we get

f(x)=8

(4)

By putting x = 9, we get

f(x)=(2)^{9-7}

       =(2)^2

       =4

(5)

By putting x = 11, we get

f(x)=(2)^{11-7}

       =(2)^4

       =16
