Mendel allowed the first-generation plants to self-pollinate. Figure 5 also shows what happened when a first-generation plant with purple flowers was allowed to self-pollinate. As you can see, the recessive trait for white flowers reappeared in the second generation.

Describe examples of allopatric radiation in the madagascar-india landmasses and dusky salamanders.
Leokris [45]

During Pangea, Madagascar and India were one landmass. The species of frogs were homogenous across the landmass. However, after continental drift that began approximately 88 years ago, allopatric speciation occurred to form different species on the two continents.

The dusky salamanders on the two continents that could once reproduce viable offspring 88 years ago, cannot reproduce viably today because they have diverged into two different species now.

After the fossils are buried in the mud the soft tissues start to decompose rapidly. Leaving only the hard shells or bones of the animal. With time, sediment starts to build up on the top and then hardens into rock. The bones then start to decay, minerals start to enter and then end up replacing the organic material cell by cell in a process that is known as "petrification." So the answer you are looking for is B,  Mud can prevent oxygen from reaching the dead organism.

A cell has 36 chromosomes. After it divides by mitosis, how many chromosomes will be in each cell?
butalik [34]

Answer:

36 chromosomes in each cell

Explanation:

Mitosis is an equational division which means that it does not reduce or change the number of chromosomes in the daughter cells. Mitosis in a single parent cell produces two daughter cells each having the same DNA content and the number of chromosomes is present in the parent cell. Each chromosome after the S phase has two sister chromatids that separate from each other and are segregated to the opposite poles of the cell during anaphase of mitosis. Therefore, a cell with 36 chromosomes will form two daughter cells after one round of mitosis. Each daughter cell would have 36 chromosomes.
