Chris recently received an array p as his birthday gift from Joseph, whose elements are either 0 or 1. He wants to use it to gen

erate an infinite long superarray. Here is his strategy: each time, he inverts his array by bits, changing all 0 to 1 and all 1 to 0 to get another array, then concatenate the original array and the inverted array together. For example, if the original array is [0,1,1,0] then the inverted array will be [1,0,0,1] and the new array will be [0,1,1,0,1,0,0,1]. He wonders what the array will look like after he repeat this many many times.
He ask you to help him sort this out. Given the original array pp of length ????n and two indices a,b (????≪????≪????, means much less than) Design an algorithm to calculate the sum of elements between a and b of the generated infinite array p^, specifically, ∑????≤????≤????p????^. He also wants you to do it real fast, so make sure your algorithm runs less than O(b) time. Explain your algorithm and analyze its complexity.

What are the three main purposes of an operating system? Explain how the old mainframe computers were different from the compute
lbvjy [14]

Answer:(1) To manage the computer's resources, which includes central processing unit, memory, disk drives, and printers, (2) To establish a user interface

(3)To execute and provide services for applications software.

The old mainframe computers have

(1) low memory sizes

(2) slower connectivity speed

(3) Larger sizer

(4) low sophistication.

Explanation: Operating system is a system software that manages the computer resources,helps to establish user interface and it helps to provide services for application softwares.

Operating system software includes WINDOWS X,WINDOWS 7,WINDOWS 8,LINUX,etc.

Mainframe computers are computers used by large multinational companies for processing bulk data. Old mainframe computers were produced by IBM(INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINE) in the year 1952 they are classed two scientific and commercial mainframe computers with different information although they had some incompatibilities. Old mainframe computers are large in size with low processing speed, sophistication and storage compared to present day system.

Write a Python 3 program to read from a .csv file containing rates from power companies. Your program should determine the avera
aliya0001 [1]

Answer:

In python:

file = open("rates.csv", "r")

ratecount = 0

ratesum = 0

mylist = []

rates = file.readlines()

for nums in rates:

     num = nums.rstrip('\n')

     mylist.append(int(num))

     for i in num:

           ratesum= ratesum + int(i)

           ratecount = ratecount + 1

print("Maximum Rate: "+str(max(mylist)))

print("Minimum Rate: "+str(min(mylist)))

print("Average Rate: "+str(ratesum/ratecount))

Explanation:

This opens the csv file

file = open("rates.csv", "r")

This initializes the number of rates in the file

ratecount = 0

This initializes the sum of the rates

ratesum = 0

This initializes an empty list

mylist = []

This reads the rates into lines

rates = file.readlines()

This iterates through the rates (as a string)

for nums in rates:

This removes the newline character \n in the rates

     num = nums.rstrip('\n')

This appends the rates (as an integer) to the empty list

     mylist.append(int(num))

The following counts the rates in the file and also sum them up

<em>      for i in num: </em>

<em>            ratesum= ratesum + int(i) </em>

<em>            ratecount = ratecount + 1 </em>

This prints the maximum of the rates

print("Maximum Rate: "+str(max(mylist)))

This prints the minimum of the rates

print("Minimum Rate: "+str(min(mylist)))

This calculates and prints the average rate

print("Average Rate: "+str(ratesum/ratecount))
