Solve using elimination x-2y=10 and x+3y=5

Mathematics

Zina [86]2 years ago

Multiply the equation (x-2y=10) by -1
-x+2y=-10
x+3y=5
The x’s cancel out
2y=-10
3y=5
Combine
5y=-5
Divide both sides by 5
y=-1
Plug in y to either original equation
x-2(-1)=10
x+2=10
Subtract 2 from both sides
x=8, y=-1

mark wants to fence 4 rectangular gardens with a length of 9 1/4 amd a width of 4 1/2 what is the total length of fenceing mark
Otrada [13]

Step-by-step explanation:

length of each rectangle= 9 1/14=127/14

breadth of each rectangle=5=4 1/2= 9/2

so perimeter of 1 rectangle= 2(l+r)

=2(127/14+ 9/2)

=2(127+63)/14

=2×190/14

=190/7

=27.14 feet

so total length of fencing= 4×27.14

=108.57 feet

hope you understand the solution and good luck!!
