add 10 to both-side of the equation

-10  + 10+ 4b  = -6+10

4b = 4

divide both-side of the equation by 4

b = 1

substitute b= 1 in equation (1)

a = 5b

a =5(1)

a=5

Therefore,   a= 5    and   b=1
