How did the civil war test the foundation of a country that uses democracy?
Vika [28.1K]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached we can say the following.

The civil war tested the foundation of a country that uses democracy in that the civil war confronts people from the same country on the battlefield for political and economic reasons.

It is hard to believe that people from the same nationality -brothers we could say in a metaphorical way- confront each other to the extreme of seceding from the Union and fight using weapons. A civil war is an internal battle that hurts democracy and the legitimacy of the government that the founding fathers so carefully planned for the United States since colonial American times.

A civil war separates, divides. As President Abraham Lincoln said in his famous speech "A House divided," if a country is divided from within, this not only hurts democracy and freedom but also impacts all aspects and foundations of a nation.

By now you should have noticed that trade becomes important to people as they settle down and develop more complex societies. Wh
Dima020 [189]
The concept of trade is buy and sell. A developing government should be able to invest more on its transportation infrastructure to allow trade to improve internally and externally. Trade allows exchange of goods, services and even gaining new experiences with technology and education can be considered a form of trade. Profit is received from the goods, services, etc you import and gain of technology, experience and collaboration is achieved also along the way. Some great examples are the Silk Road used as a medium or channel for trading benefiting east Asia and western Europe. Japan's train system and many more.

Which method of interpreting the Constitution, "original intent" or "living document," do you think is more valid? Use what you
bazaltina [42]

To me, as a third-year law student, the correct approach is "living document."

The number one reason for this is that the Constitution was written in the late 1700s. The framers could not have envisioned, let alone written, a document that considered a world with the internet, access to space, etc.

So, our choices are either to have a new Constitutional convention OR adapt the current document.

I choose the latter.

Answer:

Alexandria was an important city of the ancient world. For more than two thousand years, it was the largest city in Egypt and was its capital for almost half of that time. As an important trading post between Europe and Asia, it profited from the easy overland connection between the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.
