Sketch the sequence in which pre-mrna is "edited" after it is made on the dna template and before it is ready to function as mrn
Masja [62]

Answer: mRNA (messenger RNA) is formed from a template of DNA ( deoxyribonucleic acid) with the help of enzyme RNA polymerase. This process is called transcription.

pre mRNA needs to undergo processing before it can be translated to form protein (in the cytoplasm). It involves splicing ( where introns that is non coding sequences, are removed and exons are joined).

Apart from this, it includes capping at 5' end ( so that it is recognized by ribosome for translation) of mRNA and addition of poly A tail at 3' end.

The sequence for editing is depicted in the attached flow chart.

If you weigh 38 kilograms on your bathroom scale, your weight in space will be
Harman [31]

<u>Answer:</u>

<em>less than 38 kilograms</em>

<u>Explanation:</u>

The weight of a body when measured on earth is the resultant force the ground applies to balance the force due to mass of the <em>body and acceleration due to gravity.</em>

Because your weight depends on the gravity you would weigh less on a planetary body with less gravity than on Earth, and in space you would weigh almost nothing at all. So the answer is <em>less than 38 kg</em>

It is <em>measured in Newtons (N)</em>. The weight of a person changes with varying gravity. As such the mass of the body varies through the universe irrespective of the <em>gravity and other external factor</em>. It is measured in kilograms.

The energy used to pump hydrogen ions from the mitochondrial matrix across the inner membrane and into the intermembrane space i
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

b. reactions in the electron transport chain

Explanation:

Oxidative phosphorylation, which is the process described in this question, is the third stage of cellular respiration which occurs in the MITOCHONDRION of eukaryotic cells. In this stage of oxidative phosphorylation, which encompasses electron transport chain (ETC) and chemiosmosis, ATP is synthesized.

The ATP is synthesized when protons (H+) move from the mitochondrial matrix into the intermembrane space, forming, a proton pump. The series of electron transfers (reactions) that occur in the complexes of the ETC provides the ENERGY to pump the protons/hydrogen ions out of the matrix, which creates the electrochemical gradient required for ATP synthesis with the help of ATP synthase.

A bird that can easily out complete other birds for its food and that can produce many eggs has high what?
love history [14]

Answer:

Fitness or aptitude

Explanation:

Aptitude (or fitness) is the genotype/phenotype that results in the survival, fertility, and capability of having a mate. It is a way of measuring the individual ability to leave fertile offspring.

Aptitude puts together everything that matters in natural selection. Includes the survival capability, finding a mate partner possibility, producing fertile descendants, and leaving the genes to the next generation. The aptitude of a genotype must be significant for natural selection to act in its favor.
