The basal energy rate is the daily amount of energy (measured in calories) needed by the body at rest to maintain body temperatu

re and the basic life processes of respiration, cell metabolism, circulation, and glandular activity. As you may suspect, the basal energy rate differs for individuals, depending on their gender, age, height, and weight. The formula for the basal energy rate for men is B= 655.096+9.563W+1.85H-4.676A where B is the basal energy rate (in calories), W is the weight (in kilograms), H is the height (in centimeters), and A is the age (in years). A male patient is 70 years old, weighs 55 kilograms, and is 172 centimeters tall. A total daily caloric intake of 1000 calories is prescribed for him. Determine if his caloric intake is sufficient for his needs and explain why or why not.

Given :
A = 70 years old
H = 172 cm
W = 55 kg

so calculate the the basal energy rate B
B = 655.096 + 9.563W +1.85H - 4.676A
where B is the basal energy rate (in calories), W is the weight (in kilograms), H is the height (in centimeters), and A is the age (in years)
substitute the given
B = 655.096 + 9.563(55) +1.85(172) - 4.676(70)
B = 1171.941 cal is the basal energy rate, since he is prescribed for 1000 cal per day is not enough because basal energy is the calorie needed at rest only how about the calorie needed for the daily acivities.

Using the slope formula, find the slope of the line through the given points. (4.4) and (5.2) What is the slope of the line? Sel
harina [27]

Answer:

A.

m = -1

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope Formula: m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Simply plug in your 2 coordinates into the formula to find slope m:

m = (6 - 4)/(2 - 4)

m = 2/-2

m = -1

3² +4² = 5²,
AlekseyPX

Answer:

They are all true

Step-by-step explanation:

1. 3² +4² = 5²

3x3 + 4x4 = 5x5

 9 + 16 = 25

25 = 25

-----------------------

2. 6² + 8² = 10²

36 + 64 = 100

100 = 100

------------------

3. 9² + 12² = 15²

81 + 144 = 225

225 = 225

-------------------

4. 5² +12² =13²

25 + 144 = 169

169 =169

-------------------
