Answer:

3

Step-by-step explanation:

If we have two terms that equal each other, and our fraction is

\frac{x  y}{x + y}

And we know that x=y

Subsitue x for y

\frac{x {}^{2} }{2x}  = d

where d is the product and x is the number we are using to apply the binary operations.

The number we using is 6 so x=6

\frac{ {6}^{2} }{2(6)}  =  \frac{36}{12}  = 3

An object is translated by ( x + 4, y - 2). If one point in the image has the coordinates (5, -3), what would be the coordinates
Nikolay [14]
To find the pre-image we work backwards. Since the coordinates one of the translated image is (5,-3) and this image was translated with the formula (x+4, y-2), then we can just work backwords.
(x-4, y+2) --> (5-4,-3+2) -->(1,-1)
The correct answer is (1,-1)

State the x- and y-intercepts.
Rufina [12.5K]

1. Y-Intercepts are where the graph crosses the y-axis. For a parabola, this occurs once, at (0, -3) in the graph shown.

2. X-Intercepts are where the graph crosses the x-axis. For a parabola, this occurs twice, at (-1, 0) and (3, 0) in the graph shown.

3. A parabola that is positive opens upwards, while a parabola that is negative opens downwards. Therefore, this parabola is positive.

Hope this helps!! :)
