Use the law of sines to find the value of w.
Lunna [17]

Option B: 4.0 cm is the value of w

Explanation:

It is given that \angle W= 39, \angle U=31, VW=3.3 and UV=w

Using the law of sines, we have,

\frac{sin U}{3.3} =\frac{sin W}{w}

Substituting the values, we have,

\frac{\sin 31}{3.3}=\frac{\sin 39}{w}

Cross multiplying, we get,

(sin31) w=3.3( \sin 39)

Simplifying, we have,

0.515w=2.077

Dividing both sides by 0.515, we have,

w=4.0

Thus, the value of w is 4.0 cm

Hence, Option B is the correct answer.

Given that D(x) = 2x, select all of the following that are true statements.
Arisa [49]
<span><em>D(x) is a function.</em> TRUE. It is a function of x.

</span><span><em>x is the dependent variable.</em> FALSE. x is the independent variable because the function is expressed in terms of the independent variable.

</span><span><em>D(6) = 3</em>. FALSE. D(6) = 2(6) = 12. D(6) should be equal to 12.

</span><em>D(x) is a direct variation.</em><span> TRUE.</span><span> This holds true to the definition of direct variation where one variable is related to the other variable at the same constant multple. In this case, it is 2.

</span><span><em>D(x) is a rule for the set of points (5, 10), (6, 12) and (-2, -4).</em> TRUE. If you replace x with the first coordinate, the function would be equal to the corresponding second coordinate.</span>

Marta_Voda [28]
1. Shortly, 24 = 75%*32, because you are paying for 3 out of 4 cans (75% out of 100%)
2.
32 = (3 purchased +1 free )*X times
X = 8, Purchased = 3*x = 3*8=24
